Aquablu Lanka Pvt. Ltd. is a Central Environment Authority (CEA) approved consultancy body for waste management solutions in Sri Lanka. The company is led by a team of dedicated domain specialists with over 25 years of diverse and extensive industry experience, qualified professionals in Microbiology, Chemistry and Engineering, who are intimately involved in designing and commissioning the solutions.

We provide biological waste management solutions along with physio-chemical (chemicals) and electro-physics (no chemicals) methodologies. Our waste management solutions are designed and manufactured in Germany and Spain, use internationally to obtained high quality discharge effluent. The technologies have been well proven for residential buildings ranging from single-family setup to large-scale structures such as hotels, apartments, factories, food processing plants, and so on. We partner with Germany’s Aquato® for sewage treatment plants who are the industry experts and leaders in their respective technologies.

Dr. Ananda holds more than three decades of industry experience as a research scientist, presently the deputy director at Coconut Research Institute, Sri Lanka. He was the Principal Soil Scientist and Head of the Soils & Plant Nutrition Division. His major contributions were, involved in research & technology transfer activities, carry out major studies, advisories, surveys, service functions, contribution to symposia, recommendations to the national development, academic involvements & supervision, media contributions, organizing & conducting workshops for community groups etc,. Dr. Ananda is member of British Society of Soil Science, Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science., Sri Lanka Institute of Biology and Sri Lanka Society of Soil Science. He holds PhD (Soil Chemistry & Microbiology) from University of Aberdeen UK, M Phil (botany) from University of Kelaniya and BSc (Agri) from University of Ruhuna.

Dr. Ananda Thennakoon (Chairman)

Ushantha oversees the company direction, provision technical consultancy, international trade and business development activities. He’s the founding director of the company with vast experience in the fields of microbiology, wastewater treatment and fiber technology. Ushantha was the former CEO of Klaro, a wastewater treatment company and Managing director of AJ Fishing, a producer of high quality commercial fishing equipment and fiber solutions for Norwegian countries. Ushantha is a graduate in Microbiology from the University of Kelaniya.

Ushantha Ekanayake (Managing Director)

Ruwan is in charge of project design and delivery. He is also overseeing the research division, design and development of automated water treatment process flows, as well as driving the continuous improvement of the company's IT infrastructure. He has over two decades of experience in IT Services, having worked for several global tech firms technology consulting divisions, specialized in software engineering, operations & environment management. Ruwan holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Kelaniya.
